前作の大ヒットを踏まえて製作された第2弾。本作の見どころは何と言っても、画面上に次々と登場する斬新なデザインの刀剣の数々に、主人公が剣術のみならずアイデアで立ち向かうバトル・シーン。これが原点となり、主演のジミー・ウォングの代表作となる『片腕ドラゴン』等にも受け継がれている
