遠山の金さん（とおやまのきんさん）は、テレビ朝日（旧：NETテレビ）系列にて放送された杉良太郎主演の連続テレビ時代劇。全2シリーズ計131話。第1シリーズ（101話）が1975年から1977年まで、毎週木曜夜8時からの「木曜時代劇」枠で放送され、1979年には同枠で第2シリーズ（30話）が放送された。テレビ朝日と東映（京都撮影所）の製作による『遠山の金さん』シリーズ第4作目にあたる。 江戸北町奉行「遠山左衛門尉」とお節介焼きの遊び人「金さん」と言う二つの顔を持つ男、遠山金四郎の活躍を描く。前作の橋幸夫版終了から半年後に、放送時間枠をそれまでの日曜日夜8時枠から木曜日夜8時枠に移動して制作された。主演の杉良太郎は、中村梅之助・市川段四郎・橋幸夫に次いで4代目にあたる。 テレビ朝日はNETテレビ時代から『遠山の金さん』シリーズを製作していたが、杉良太郎版以前のものは『-捕物帳』や『ご存知-』がタイトルについていた。それらのタイトルがつかないのはこの杉版と高橋版および松平版の3シリーズのみで、以降製作された松方弘樹版も『名奉行-』、『-VS女ねずみ』がつくこととなる。 杉版第2シリーズのオープニング映像は時代劇では珍しいアニメと実写を織り交ぜたものになっている。また杉版の金さんは、立ち回りの最中に被弾し（桜吹雪が散りかけ）、瀕死の重傷を負いながらお白洲で吟味するという他の歴代金さんにない異色回が存在する[注 1]。また悪人達に強要されたり利用されてやむなく罪を犯してしまった者には不問にしたり軽微な裁きで終わらせるのが常であるが、第2シーズンでは利用されたとはいえ生じた被害が大きいこと(13話、19話)から遠島。人を殺した(23話、25話)ので死罪と厳しい裁きが下される話がある。杉が歌った主題歌「すきま風」もロングヒットした。 キャストにおいても、岸部シロー（現：岸部四郎）が南町のドジ同心・赤目玄蕃に扮し[注 2]、伊東四朗が北町の筆頭与力・青木紋十郎に扮し人気を盛り上げた。また赤目玄蕃と、植田峻[注 3] 演じる岡っ引き・花川戸の新八のコンビは、後のシリーズで恒例となる“ドジな同心と腰巾着の岡っ引き”の原型となった[注 4]。第2シリーズでは青空球児・好児がレギュラー出演している。
